JULIE #sportygirl MAIOLI
Pilot, journalist and blogger, Julie Maioli (#sportygirl) is in love with these two-wheel wonders, which she considers masterpieces of engineering. The decision to hold on to the handlebars came many years ago. It started with small engine bikes but her goal was clear: to be competitive in the race track. A few years later and several track riding courses under her belt, it was time to hit the tracks for real. And with that came the fast rise to the podium, racing a Yamaha R1 and finishing first in one of the most important races of her career. Eager to share her experiences as one of the few female motorcycle pilots in Brazil, Julie launched her own blog Susurrando a 250 Km/h (Whispering at 250Km/h). Julie, who can be spotted around South Florida piloting her sportbike (nicknamed Lady Chilipepper), says nothing beats the humming of the wind, the feeling of the knee rubbing the asphalt and the shot of adrenaline that comes with track racing. "This is what makes my heart beat faster. This is my fuel", she says. Julie is the co-founder of USA2Ride and when she's not writing about the latest of the motorcycling world, she is looking for something motorcycle related to watch, or do.
