When South Florida resident Michael Engel decided to spend the 4th of July in Las Vegas with a friend, he had no idea what was waiting for him.
As Mike and his friend, Lester drove around near the Las Vegas strip, the car in front of them started “brake-checking”, in a clear act of provocation. Before he knew it, Lester was out of the car confronting the driver and passenger of the other car.
That lead to a fight that sent both Mike and Lester to the hospital. Both badly injured. Mike, a fabricator, resident of Riviera Beach, in Palm Beach County is unable to work and may need surgery to get back into shape.
Mike – and his girlfriend – Jess – are well known within the South Florida motorcycling community for the stunts they perform in events across the region. Mike has a mellow personality and is very approachable. Not to mention that his stunt performances are out of this world.
USA2Ride spoke with Officer Michael Rodriguez from The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department who said this is being characterized as a road rage incident. According to Officer Rodriguez, an arrest warrant for the two aggressors was sought by the detective in charge of the case.
